Not able to connect FabricWarehouse via ADF

I was previously able to connect to Fabric Warehouse 'Warehouse1' via an ADF Pipeline using a Service Principal, and I could also access it through SSMS. However, I'm now facing an issue where I can't connect to the warehouse anymore. The error I'm receiving through ADF is :

ErrorCode=SqlFailedToConnect,'Type=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Common.Shared.HybridDeliveryException,Message=Cannot connect to SQL Database. Please contact SQL server team for further support. Server: 'Server1.datawarehouse.fabric.microsoft.com', Database: 'Warehouse1Id', User: ''. Check the linked service configuration is correct, and make sure the SQL Database firewall allows the integration runtime to access.,Source=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Connectors.MSSQL,''Type=Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.SqlException,Message=Login failed for user '<token-identified principal>'.,Source=Framework Microsoft SqlClient Data Provider,'.

Does anyone know why this issue has occurred suddenly? Could any settings have been updated that might have caused this? Appreciate any help in advance!

We understand that you are experiencing an issue connecting to Fabric Warehouse 'Warehouse1' via an ADF Pipeline using a Service Principal. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the issue:

  • Verify that the Service Principal used for the connection has the necessary permissions and that its credentials are up to date.
  • Check for any network-related issues that might be preventing the connection. This includes ensuring that the network configuration has not changed.
  • Confirm that the Fabric Warehouse 'Warehouse1' is online and accessible. Sometimes, the database might be undergoing maintenance or experiencing downtime.
  • Check that the connector being used in the ADF Pipeline is correctly configured and up to date.
  • If there have been any recent changes to the ADF Pipeline, the Fabric Warehouse, or the network configuration that might have caused this issue.
