Need help: Automating Connection creation via REST API

Hi,

I'm using the Data Pipeline resource inside fabric and the Salesforce connector to connect to a salesforce system. The first time i do this, I'm supposed to create a connection via my org account, i can give access to this connection to other members as well. I'm looking to automate this connection creation process via Fabric's REST API. The documentation mention Get, List, Create, etc APIs but after doing certain PoCs on them, i found only SQL connections and connections Salesforce Systems are not listed.
Has anyone done this before or has any insights.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Hi @ritikesh ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community.

Automating the creation of Salesforce connections in Microsoft Fabric via REST API isn’t fully supported at the moment. While the API allows for creating SQL and some other connections, Salesforce connections don’t appear to be manageable via the API yet. Currently, they need to be set up manually through the UI in Dataflow Gen2 or data pipelines.

For now, the best approach is to create the connection manually and then share access with other users as needed. You can refer to the official documentation for setting up Salesforce connections: Salesforce Objects Connector in Microsoft Fabric

I’d also recommend providing feedback to Microsoft, as more user requests could encourage them to enhance the API. You can share your feature requests or ideas through this link for consideration: Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community.

If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you.
