Is there a way to enforce naming convention to items, tables and fields in Microsof Fabric?

Unfortunately, there is no way you can enforce specific naming conventions to items,tables in MSFT fabric.

You can leverage Azure Devops and SQLFluff combination to do naming convention validations but no direct way to have restrictions at portal level

Hi @diegofosso 

 

  • Use consistent namiing conventions to organize database items. For example, start table names with tbl_, field names with fld_, and view names with vw_ to easily identify their type. This helps maintain clarity and standardization in your database structure.
  • In case where multiiple items have similar names, include unique identifiers or sequential numbers to distinguish them. For example, you can append _001, _002, or use descriptive tags like tbl_customer_2020 to ensure clarity and prevent conffusion in your database structure.
