I have json files stored in a Lakehouse resource in a Fabric workspace. I would like to read the contents of these files from an external environment, rather than from a Fabric notebook. Is there a way to do this? For reference, I've tried following the steps in this blog post (Connect to Fabric Lakehouses & Warehouses from Python) but failed with a HYT00 error when trying to use pyodbc to connect.
Hello, i am having the same problem. Is there anyway around this? The reason why I created the lakehouse was to connect to it via an external python script.
Hi @Anonymous
Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.
Fabric Lakehouse currently restricts direct access to files from external environments like Python scripts running outside of Fabric notebooks. This means you cannot directly connect to your Lakehouse and read the JSON files using Python code on your local machine or another external environment.
I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
Thank you.
