Gateway issue- We could not evaluate this query due to invalid or missing credentials.

TL;DR:

I messed up my gateway and it says my credentials are invalid. I think my credentials are correct. I'm looking for a way to check or update the credentials or find the appropriate support.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

About two months ago I started developing a Fabric workspace for my business on my laptop. Most of the data is stored on Dropbox. I installed an on-prem gateway and everything worked great. I am the only developer. I only use two PCs.

Earlier this week I realised I wanted to manage the development from the second PC so installed another on-prem gateway on the that device. This is where things started going wrong. I didn't know anything about migrating gateways and deleted the gateway on the first device.

At first it looked fine. The new gateway is active.

However, every time I open a Fabric Dataflow I get the message "We could not evaluate this query due to invalid or missing credentials." and it states that the individual connections are offline.

I have gone into the Manage Gateways and Connection and when I enter credentials, I get a message.

I re-checked my credentials and am using the username and password I set up the gateway with.

I checked, and where necessary I updated the paths to the on prem files.

There doesn't seem to be a faculty to check or reset the credentials being requested. The only credentials I think I should be using are those I entered when setting up the gateway. My PCs don't require any other passwords to connect to the sources.

I'm only using Fabric two months. It is new to me but I've signed up and am paying but this challenge has me stumped.

Is there a way for me to find out what credentials the connection is looking for or a way to reset the credentials?

If not, is there a support service that can assist me?

I am on GMT so please excuse me if I don't reply promptly.

Hi @minimalist

You can try with Windows authentication like give your windows username and windows account password. try once using this method.

Let me know if it works

Thank you!

Hi

Thank you for your advice. Yes, it seems to have allowed me to connect to some source tables. I really don't understand how it worked as I don't have to enter any windows credentials when I use this device.

Regardless, thank you for your assistance, especially on a Sunday. This will make tomorrow less stressful.
