Error connecting to onprem SAP instance with ODBC drivers

I have a problem connecting to an onpremises SAP instance using Microsoft Fabric even though I had downloaded the right ODBC driver that was suggested to be downloaded. The 64bit one, I even tried connecting to power BI since it is almost the same way of connecting and still experienced the issue of connecting.

This is the error that I keep getting even though the right driver is installed on the machine housing the SAP instance. Image.jpg

I require urgent assistance on this. Thank you

HI @refh0111,

According to the error message, the issue seems related to the data source accessibility. Did that datasource required any proxy or Vnet settings to connections?
In addition, it also mentions about the 'HDBODBC' driver. Have you check the configuration and ensure it can be accessed?

Regards,

Xiaoxin Sheng

the driver is installed correctly. We tested the connection to the server from the PC using the driver, and it worked successfully. However, we are still encountering this error in Fabric.

What setup do you use for connecting to this the on-premise server? Do you have a VM installed with the on-premise gateway and the odbc driver installed on the same VM, or do you have the gateway and odbc driver directly installed on the SAP server?

Do you also have some more information about the connection you have created in Fabric? Can you share some screenshots of the configuration?

Hi I believe its complaining for missing HANA driver on your desktop.

You can download the driver from the SAP Portal, follow these two blogs, one from Microsoft and one from SAP.

I did download the driver, it even suggested the specific driver to download however it seems it can not be discoverable
