Dutch UI translation errors

We detected 2 translation error in the Fabric UI using the Dutch language. In Fabric SQL, when you right click a database object the option "Script as drop" is translated as "Script als neerzetten", which is wrong Dutch translation. "Neerzetten" means to put down. The correct translation should be "Script als verwijderen", which translates as "Script as remove".

The second one is when you run a pipeline and an activity is executed in less than 1 second, the Dutch translation is "Kleiner dan 1s", which translates to "Smaller than 1s". The correct translation should be "Minder dan 1s", which translates to "Less than 1s".

Hi @nielsvdc ,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Fabric Community.

The translation issues you pointed out in the Dutch UI are valid, and clearly mentioning the suggested corrections is helpful. Raising it here brings more visibility, which can help the team prioritize the fix based on community feedback.

Thanks also for sharing the support ticket ID so the issue is being tracked. If you receive any updates from the support team, please consider sharing them here as it could help others facing the same problem.

Regards,
Vinay

Hi @nielsvdc ,

Thank you for taking the time to document these Dutch translation issues in such detail, including clear examples and the correct translations. These kinds of language nuances can have a real impact on user experience, especially for native speakers relying on accurate terminology.

A few suggestions and next steps to maximize impact:

  1. Raising Visibility:

    • Posting here is definitely helpful for raising community awareness and for tracking if others encounter the same issues.
    • As you already did, creating a formal support ticket with Microsoft Support is the best way to ensure these get routed to the localization/product teams for review and correction.
  2. Providing Context:

    • Including screenshots, the current (incorrect) translation, and your proposed correction—as you did—gives the product team a clear reference and makes it much easier for them to implement a fix.
  3. Tracking Progress:

    • If you receive a case number from Microsoft Support, you might want to share it here, so others can reference or add their voice if they are affected by the same issue.
    • You can also follow up in this thread if you get any status updates or if the fix is released in a future update.
  4. Broader Benefits:

    • Accurate translations not only improve usability for Dutch-speaking users but also reflect the quality and inclusivity of the overall product. Community reports like yours are invaluable for continuous improvement.

Thanks again for your attention to detail and willingness to help make the product better for everyone. If you (or anyone else) notice similar localization issues in other languages or parts of the UI, sharing them here and via support channels is always appreciated!

Let us know if you hear back from Microsoft or need help tracking the issue further.
