Hi @anusha_2023

Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.

Apologies for the inconvenience that you are facing the here.

Could you please check below considerations and limitations that might help you.

  • To create a deployment rule, you must be the owner of the dataflow, dataset or paginated report you're creating a rule for.

  • Rules for dataflows that have other dataflows as sources, are not supported.

  • Data source rules for common data model (CDM) folders in a dataflow, are not supported.

  • Rules for datasets that use dataflows as their source, are not supported.

For more details please refer: Create deployment rules

I hope this information helps. If the issue still persists please do let us know.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to understand the rule "Rules for datasets that use dataflows as their source, are not supported". I have three dataflows in the developemt workspace and all three are extracting data from data sources through on-premises gateway and storing tables in the lakehouse. Does that mean these dataflows are not supported in the deployment pipelines beacause tried t create a new deployment pipeline and I got the below information while adding development workspace to the pipeline.

deploymentstep1.PNG

The purpose of the deploment pipeline in my case is to push the below items to production:

  1. Dataflow (which is extracting data from the datasource)
  2. Lakehouse(Storing the tables)
  3. Notebook(has data cleaning)
  4. Pipeline(included dataflow,notebook and scheduled everyday)
  5. Power bi report

And schedule the pipeline daily in the production so that power bi report is included in the app and consumed by business through production environment.

Now dataflow is not picked up by the deployment pipeline. Please give me ideas to implement a work around to schedule the pipeline in the production environment.

Hi @anusha_2023

Apologies for the delay in response from my end.

I would suggest you to create a support ticket. This is the most direct way to get official assistance and specific insights into your situation. This might require a deeper investigation from our engineering team about your workspace and the logic behind it to properly understand what might be happening.

Please go ahead and raise a support ticket to reach our support team:

https://support.fabric.microsoft.com/support
Please provide the ticket number here as we can keep an eye on it.

Thanks
