Dataflow Gen2 failing without error message and retry when not asked to

Hi (sorry for my English!)

I have a Dataflow Gen2 (without Git) which takes long time to run (> one hour) but it is OK and I know why.

BUT : the DF fails sometimes, and there is no error message in the fail log. Plus, the DF retries.

- is there a way to know why it fails ?

- is there a parameter to indicate that we don't want the DF to retry ?

Capture d’écran 2025-03-21 074234.jpg

On this screenshot, the 2 yellow runs have failed but been retried by the platform and succeeded.

I didn't run the DF myself after the fail, and there is no message of any error.

Thanks for any help.

Jérôme

Hello @jFloury

Dataflow Gen2 does not provide direct settings to disable automatic retries. Automatic retries are part of its built-in functionality aimed at ensuring job completion.

Automatic retries are a built-in feature designed to handle temporary failures, such as network glitches or resource contention, and ensure job completion without manual intervention.

view run history to see the details, but honestly DF logs are not very helpful

please give kudos and accept the answer if this is helpful

Thank you @nilendraFabric

I've seen that there is no error message in the Dataflow log, so it is impossible to know why it fails precisely.

That's quite annoying 😉

Maybe others have some tips to track those errors ?
