Hi,
when analyzing the capacity metrics report “timepoint details,” I noticed that the default semantic model of a warehouse very often appears among the top “interactive operations for time range,” even though no report or user has access to the model.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thanks!

Thanks, removing all tables from the default semantic model seems to stop the cu usage.
@shashiPaul1570_ : Delete from default semantic model is actually not possible in my environment at the moment. I will do that when it is possible

Adding on to above solution provided by @v-menakakota , you can also do following in order to avoid/reduce this usage.
Delete the default semantic model manually from the workspace if it's not being used for reporting
Audit workspace access to ensure no background service principals or users are querying it
Check for refresh triggers, lineage scans, or system metadata operations
Use Activity Logs or Capacity Metrics to identify what’s driving the usage
Thanks & Regards

Hi @cw88 ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Even if no report or user is actively using the default semantic model, it can still appear in the Capacity Metrics report under Interactive Operations.Check the below
Fabric might be running automatic background checks or metadata validations on the model.
If a refresh fails and retries, or if internal operations are happening, these can show up as interactive usage.
