I am not able to connect to ADLS Gen 2 storage account from fabric capacity (shortcut/pipeline/dataflows). I have tried service principal/sas/ad account authentication options, none seem to work. However I can connect to storage account via azure data explorer.
Error message on fabric seem to vary from invalid credentials to An unknown error occurred. If this problem recurs, please contact support with this message Session ID.
Storage account allows traffic from all network.
Storage account and fabric capacity are part of same resource group, both located in west europe.
Appreciate your inputs in finding what is cauing this. Thanks!
I do not seem to have access to create support ticket on our azure subscription. I noticed that same issue has been reported by @neucharan about a week ago : https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/Fabric-to-ADLS-Gen2-shortcut-Error-No-V...
Reference to support ticket #2401180010001450.
How can I check the updates for this support ticket?
Hi @AdilH ,
Thanks for providing the details. I will check further and let you know. Appreciate your patience.
Hi @AdilH
Apologies for the delay in response. I did not get any update from the internal team regarding the ticket. Can you please create a new support ticket and share the details here?
Thanks.
Hi @AdilH
We haven’t heard from you on the last response and was just checking back to see if you got a chance to create a support ticket. If yes please provide the details here.
Otherwise, will respond back with the more details and we will try to help.
Thanks
Much obliged.
Thank you for the response.
I did further investigation, and I realize that the storage account with same service principal is accessible via data factory pipeline on fabric trial capacity so this means access at storage account level seems to be working. However we cannot access the storage account from fabric capacity we procured(F8). Any specific capacity tenant setting that is preventing the access?
Thanks!
Hi @AdilH
Apologies for the issue you have been facing. Fabric SKUs have no impact on connectivity.
I would request you to try again and if the issue still persists, please contact our support team here:
https://support.fabric.microsoft.com/support
Please provide the ticket details here.
Thanks.
Hi @AdilH
Thanks for using Fabric Community.
I tried connecting to ADLS GEN2 storage container through Fabric pipelines and was successfull. I have attached the screenshots for your reference.
I also tried connecting with SAS token.
I did not face any issue while connecting. For more information please refer to this link:

As per the error which you have been facing :
1) "Invalid credentials": Double-check the service principal credentials (client ID, secret) or the AD account username/password for typos or expiration. Ensure the account has sufficient permissions (Storage Blob Data Reader/Contributor) at the container level.
2) "An unknown error occurred": These are harder to diagnose, but the Session ID can be helpful. Reach out to Microsoft Fabric support with the Session ID and specific context (service used, authentication method, storage account name) for detailed analysis.
Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
