I am using Azure Fabric to obtain data from a number of sources, including a dataverse behind Dynamics 365.
I have been able to create shortcuts to a number of entities in my lakehouse.
The problem is quite a few entities are not visible in list of entities available to create a shortcut for.
Campaign is an example, I can see it in the Dataverse, I can connect to it via the Dataverse connector in Power BI & data-flows, but it is not available to create a shortcut against.
Change tracking is enabled on the entity.
Is this a limitation of shortcuts, or is there potentially a setting i should look at to make the entity available for creating shortcuts against?
Hi @wilson_smyth ,
As shown in the official documentation Unify data sources with OneLake shortcuts - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn, the following data sources are supported for creating a shortcut, excluding Campaigns:
You mentioned that you can connect to it with the Dataverse connector in dataflow, as an alternative you can set the destination of dataflow to lakehouse so that you can process the data in dataflow and write the data to lakehouse.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

I can do this, but that means extra steps.
I wanted to do this using shortcuts.
If i have only one datasource, a single dataverse, and i cant get all the entities via shortcuts, why bother using shortcuts at all?
Its one of the many reasons to think fabric is not fully production ready.
