Fabric needs a comprehensive way to backup all content including object definitions, data, and security. Git Source Control is at best a work-around for recovering individual item definitions. Each warehouse has restore points, but it only points to the actual data and lacks flexibility to meet customer retention policies.
In order to store data in Fabric, we need ways to back up and restore data with ease. If built-in options aren't possible, then 3rd party tools need to be able to connect. A great example today is M365 (notably, exchange & sharepoint). There, customers can use 3rd party tools to backup, restore, and retain data according to their own policies. We need this or similiar options for content stored in Fabric.
