Improve relationship visualisation in Model View for large semantic models.
When working with complex models containing many fact and dimension tables, relationship lines frequently cross and overlap, making lineage difficult to follow.
A useful enhancement would be to allow relationship connectors to be manually routed, similar to PCB design software, Visio, or network diagramming tools. Users could add bends or snap points to relationship lines so that connectors follow clear paths and avoid crossing other relationships.
In addition, users should be able to choose which side of a table the relationship line connects to (top, bottom, left, or right). This would provide greater control over model layout and make it easier to organise large semantic models without excessive line crossings.
This functionality would significantly improve model readability, maintenance, troubleshooting, onboarding of new developers, and documentation of complex data models. It would be particularly valuable for enterprise-scale models containing numerous fact and dimension tables where visual clarity is essential.
