When I publice the report from powerbi desktop it does not update in powerbi Service.

I would like to know if you could possibly help me solve a challenge I am having with one of my Power BI reports. When we publish, it comes with an error message saying that it cannot update the data in Power BI service. I have tried to manually update the report in Power BI service, but it does not update.

Thank you for your response. I have found out that the owner of the report is no longer with the company, and her account has been deactivated. However, I don't know how to change it without disrupting the connection to the data. I am new to Power BI. Can you help me?

HI @janni,

Did you mean the report has used the power bi service dataset as data source? If that is the case, perhaps you can ask the workspace members who has the permission to take owner of these contents to activate them.

If you mean you are used the inactive account and can’t publish report, you can change to an account which has licenses and permissions.
