Union Direct Query and Import Tables

Hi,

I was quite excited about the new Composite Models in Power BI. My desired use case is:

Import Bulk Data for past several months
Direct Query activity from 'Today'
Federate the results in a single table to give complete picture
The source database for this isn't perfect, so trying to Direct Query bulk data is a non-starter for performance.

I cannot find a way to achieve this result. Using a GDAX expression like 'Union' requires a data refresh as opposed to Direct Query Live updates, and I've not been able to get this working when attempting to use 'Dual' Storage or anything along those lines.

Is this supported? Any other ideas?
