Slicer to display values based on certain filtering of other columns

I have a table that contains Year and StageId.

I want to have slicer that will show values of Year only for StageId > 0. How to acheive this.

It's probably not an official solution(given the fact that there seems to be none...), but I found a workaround for that issue:

1. Click on your slicer.

2. Convert it to a Table visual(probably works with other visuals as well) by clicking on the "Table" button in the Visualizations pane.

3. Apply your visual-level filter on the table visual.

4. Convert it back to a Slicer visual.

5. The filter is now applied on the visual(Though it doesn't show on the visual-level filter bucket).

It seems to work in both Power BI Desktop and Service.

Unfortunately it does not work anymore.

Yeah, instead of providing an official solution, they just disabled the workaround a few updates ago 😕

This would be perfect...It doesnt work now. C'mon powerbi team. Its simple and useful feature!!!

Not sure if you are in the Service or Desktop, but essentially, drag StagId to your visual filter area and set to be greater than 0.

Hi Smoupre

I am using both. Unfortunately in neither the visual filter does not seem to get enabled for a Slicer object. Only the Page and Report level filters get enabled.

I am not sure if it is a limitation.
