Hi Team,
I am new to POWER BI...I have 10-15 database tables and I need to import data from these tables.
Do I need to provide server name and databse name everytime , I do this?
is there no way , I can reuse already provided details?
I hope to get answer soon.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi @Anonymous ,
try below
Power BI will then execute your query and import the data into the data model. You can perform further transformations and modeling on the imported data as needed.

Hi @Anonymous ,
try out below steps
In Power BI, you can reuse the server name and database name when importing data from multiple tables. Here's how you can achieve this:
Get Data: In Power BI Desktop, go to the "Home" tab and click on "Get Data" from the "External Data" section.
Select Database: In the "Get Data" window, select the appropriate database type you want to connect to (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.). Choose the specific database connector based on your database type.
Connection Details: In the next window, you will be prompted to enter the server name and database name. Provide the necessary information to establish the initial connection to the database.
Data Import: Once the connection is established, you will be presented with a navigator window that allows you to select tables or views from the connected database. Choose the tables you want to import into Power BI.
Query Editor: After selecting the tables, Power BI opens the Query Editor window, where you can apply transformations, filters, and other data shaping steps before loading the data into your Power BI model.
Close & Apply: Once you have finished shaping the data in Query Editor, click on the "Close & Apply" button to load the data into Power BI.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Thank you for the detailed steps. That works for me for few of the tables.
But I also have queries to be passed for few more imports. Every time I am repeating steps 1,2 and 3 mentioned by you above and then I click on advanced option and enter the query.
So in this case is there any way I can skip entering Server name and Database name and directly enter the query and import the data as I would be connecting to the same databse always.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks and Regards,
Raghu
