Hello,
I am using Government Power BI Version.
Using postman I can get a bearer token.
But when I tried to do a simple GET or POST method using postman I am getting this error "403 Forbidden - The request was a legal request but the server is refusing to respond to it. Unlike a 401 Authorization response, Authenticating will make no difference."
Below is sample Get request from MS documentation and a sample request I am using.
Get request for commercial Power BI - GET https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg/groups/{groupId}/datasets
Get request I am using for Gov Power BI - https://api.powerbigov.us/v1.0/myorg/groups/{groupId}/datasets
Any one face similar kind of error on Goverment Power BI and any thoughts on this error message?
Thanks!
HI @Anonymous,
AFAIK, the rest API of the government cloud has some differences with the common tenants. (e.g. verification and authorizations)
If the same operations work normally on common tenant but failed on gov cloud, I'd like to suggest you contact the support team with the 'National clouds' channel.
submit a support ticket

Xiaoxin Sheng
yes, this is not permitted on the Government Power BI cloud.
Hi @lbendlin
You mean Power BI Government cloud, don't support Power BI Rest APIs?
Can you please check below post.

You are right, technically it should work.
Ask your tenant admin if they have blocked certain API permissions like Tenant.ReadAll
I am the Application admin and Power BI Admin in Azure. I don't have Global Admin access in Azure, I can see that application has all required permissions in Azure. Any other settings do I need to check/verify?
Has this been resolved? We are seeing the same issue with authentication
