Hello, I am trying to find a definitive answer to the capability of using a live connection or direct query to Azure SQL Server DB with Power BI Embedded. The embedded report on my web site never loads when I use a live connection. If I use Direct Query the page returns an error message 'Can't display the visual. See details'.
I would not think that I would have to create an import type of connection for this to work.

According to your description, it seems like the issue is more related to data source configurations. How did you config these data source and gateway settings on the power bi service side? Please share more detailed information to help us clarify your scenario and troubleshoot.
