Power BI Embedded Azure Reserved Instances

Hello,

We currenly use Power BI Embedded (A1). We're unable to use the pause/resume feature since it needs to be accessible 24/7 - so it's become quite pricey.

In Azure, we're able to purchases Reservations for most Virtual Machines (VM). The A1 used for Power BI appears to be a VM. Is there a way or plans to allow customers to reservere 1 or 3 year terms for these Power BI VMs to save money?

Cheers,

Nick

Hi @Anonymous,

I check the document but did not find similar features that you wanted.

In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you assign these contents to shared capacity if they do not need to be used recently. (content hosted in a shared capacity requires the users have a pro license for view and sharing) Then you can turn off the premium capacity without losing these contents.

BTW, if you only mean to suspend/resume the capacity instance, you can take a look at the following links about the rest API capacities parts:

Power BI Embedded - Does it Make Sense to Pause an... - Microsoft Power BI Community

Capacities - REST API (Azure Power BI Embedded) | Microsoft Docs

Could you please provide the details? What was the cost? And how was the performance?
