Persistent hierarchy filters in PowerBI Embedded

Hi all,

We are currently embedding reports using PowerBI Embedded, and some of these reports have hierarchy filters. We want these filters to be persistent across reports (assuming naming conventions etc are followed correctly).

However, the hierarchy filter points to a different target per hierarchy level, and when trying to set it, the getSlicerState API only returns the higher level.

The levels (year, quarter, month, day) are all separate fields in the data model, and we don't have the ability to amend this.

Any ideas on how this is resolved, or is this a functional limitation of PBI Embedded?

Thanks,

/pT

HI @Anonymous,

Perhaps you can consider to use bookmark to saving specify filter effect, then you can simply restore these filter effects to your embedded report.

Hi @v-shex-msft  - thank you for the reply.
That is always an option, I suppose, but is a little clunky. Are persistent hierarchy filters just not supported within PowerBI Embedded then (without significant work-arounds)? It would be great to have a way of including them in the generated URL string to then dynamically apply as per the majority of the other slicers/filters.
