Permissions to update Data Set.

Hello everyone.

I developed a dashboard, and I compared it with all my equipment.

Everyone has access to the report.

I need to give permissions to some of those users to manually update the data set. How can I do it? What permits do they need?

These people already have PowerBI PRO licenses.

Hi @gabrielvigo,

Users need Edit permission to refresh data sets. There could be two approaches.

1.1 Change the Privacy of the App to "Members can only view Power BI content". (The read-only member may be deprecated in the future.)

1.2 Add the users who can refresh data set as "Admin" and add the others as members.

2.1 Remove the users from the App workspace.

2.2 Only add the users who can refresh data sets as members.

2.3 Change the Privacy of the App to "Members can edit Power BI content".

2.4 Publish the App to other users.

Hi @gabrielvigo,

1. How did they get the access? By shared dashboard or by App workspace?

2. If they are the members of the App workspace

3. How do you want them to update dataset? Through the Service web or the Rest APIs?

Dale

Hi @v-jiascu-msft

They are members of the workspace.

I would like you to update the data set from the web browser, in the Data Set section.
