OAuth2 Authentication credentials session expires every day

W.r.t PowerBI Paginated reports, I am creating a datasource in Power BI Service to connect Azure SQL database.

OAuth2 is the authentication method I am using to connect the Azure database.

The connection is getting expired in sometime(approximately 12-20 hrs).

I have to re-enter the credentials again every day to make the connection successful.

This is becomming a major issue in my work.

I see the duration for OAuth token expiry is 60 days. But not sure why my credentials is getting expired everyday.

Any Solution on this?

Hi @V-lianl-msft

Thanks for the reply. But the above solution is related to data refresh. But I am facing issue during data source creation itself. Since I am connecting to azure database, I dont have to set a data refresh.

Can you kindly help me with this?

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can perform automated data refresh operations on your Azure Analysis tabular models by following any of the below automated approaches:

  1. Refresh with Azure Automation

  2. Refresh with Logic Apps

  3. Asynchronous refresh with the REST API

Here is an article from a community expert on how to use Azure Logic App to automate Azure Analysis Services model refresh tasks: Overview of Azure Analysis Services and Logic App Tasks

Hope this info helps.

Best Regards,
Liang
