Matrix Column only Drilldown with Icon

SchererN_0-1658327877895.png

In the matrix above I have expandable rows and the ability to drilldown on columns using the Drill on button and flipping it to columns, then using the highlighted icon.

What I would like to know is if there is a way to have the yellow highlighted icon drill down for columns (Time Heirarchy) exclusively, while still keeping the pluse buttons on the rows? Thus a user would come in and use the pluses to expand the row heirarchy and use the highlighted icon for the columns to change form Year to Quarter or month?

This would allow me to remove the drill on button which I do not like as it is always default set to rows.... A solution to change that default state would be much appriciated as well.
