Dear community,
First of all, I would like to say thank you for having the Power BI Poject Project (.pbip) features. It has brought our devlopment to the next level! Please keep it and it would be great if it can expand with more popularity.
To generate PBIP files, I need to manipulate the elements in Power BI using their automation ids to perform the following steps - Click Save As, Select PBIP extension, save the file; this will generate PBIP folders.
To automation conversion of PBIP to PBIX, we do something similar. Open the PBIP file, Save As, Select PBIX extension, save the file; this will generate PBIX file.
My question is this
1. When exploring the version 2.124.2028.0 64-bit (December 2023), i find that most of the items i need, their automation ids are either blank or are strings which are not being recognised. There are issues with the class names as well. Is there some issue in the automation ids / class name in recent releases? I have tried Inspect and Spyxx tools, is there any other way to see the automation ids?
2. Is there any way of converting PBIP file to PBIX without using the Save As option in Power BI?
Did it work in prior versions of Power BI Desktop?
Yes, in one of the previous version i tested it was working. All automation ids were present and they were like '1001'.
However the previous version did not have PBIP feature available.
