I am looking to embed a power BI report into a web application.
In this case, it is a on-premise Power BI and not Azure hosted Power BI.
Is there availability of JavaScript API for on-premise Power BI? How do I embed a report Securely into a web application?
Hi @arpitutrivedi,
In this case, it is a on-premise Power BI and not Azure hosted Power BI.
Do you mean Power BI Report Server?
If that is the case, you can embed Power BI Reports with Power BI Report Server by using an iFrame in your application. Here is a good article for your reference(though the sample uses ASP.Net code, it should be similar with JavaScript).
For security(which is also mentioned in the article above), the user who is connecting to your custom app also needs to have access to the Power BI report on the report server. So you may need to set permissions in your Reporting Services currently. ![]()
