I'm a complete novice at programming but unfortunately I've had to try and learn it to get a streaming link to my Shopify account data. I've read and successfuly followed the walk-through https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/walkthrough-push-data
But it seems to use a manually scripted list of data for the inputting of data into the dataset it created. The massive missing part of the jigsaw to me is how to you specify the stream of data you want to push in to your dataset.
I have created a private app in my Shopify account and got an API key etc. I am presuming some sort of reference to that app, a JSON request of some sort, needs to be inserted into the code they've created in the walk through. But for the life of me I can't find anything, after hours of searching, that tells me how to do it. Can anyone help?
Hi, were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Shopify connector in the data sources list:
After that, you need to follow instructions and install the windsor.ai app from the Shopify App Store:
then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Shopify fields
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi, you can alternatively try this solution for Power BI and Shopify integration: https://vidi-corp.com/shopify-power-bi-connector/
Hi,
You can fetch your Shopify store data to Power BI using a ready-app -
Power BI Connector for Shopify. It is easy to use and does not require any coding skills. Take a look at this article for more information on the solution: https://www.alphaservesp.com/blog/power-bi-shopify-integration/
Hope this helps,
Liubov
