How to useg FontAwesome in custom script

I installed font-awesome via npm:

npm install font-awesome --save

And import less file to visual.less

@import(less) "node_modules/font-awesome/css/font-awesome.css";

When add <i class="fa fa-search"></i>  to html. icon isn't display;

when add 

.twitter {
  .fa-icon;
  .fab;

  &:before {
    content: @fa-var-twitter;
  }
}

I have error on fa-icon, fab,  @fa-var-twitter

Also, try to use this guide https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/on-the-web/using-with/less

but the icon still not display.

How to add font-awesome?

What is the best way to install them (npm or download manually)?

Hello,

To use such things inside a visual code, your visual must be build on webpack basis that is supported only with beta version of tools.
