I am basically working on an embedded power bi report which is embedded in a portal. I have a requirement where I need to display live GPS live locations of vehicles in a MAP based on a company that the user has access to in the portal. basically every user will have a company associated with them and I'll use row level security for doing this. A third party application will give access to live streaming data through an API. Is it possible to connect to a third party application API from power bi and show GPS locations? If it is possible, kindly advise how can I do it and your experience to a similar requirement. I am totally new to this. please help me with any documents/scripts. We have a power bi pro license. Appreciate your help.
A streaming dataset is not the right solution for this unless you want to see not just the real time location but also all historic locations of your vehicles. You may be better suited with a direct query database connection and automatic page refresh for a report.
