Hello.
My job is to create reports and dashboards for the company I work for and for some of our clients. We have data from API, but cannot be linked to Power BI through "Get data" - "Web" option. So what I have done so far was to call the API using Postman, save and update the results in JSON files by calling a JavaScript file in VS Code, then I use those JSON files as data to be added into Power BI.
I can only execute the code while at work in the office, I cannot do it if I`m away for example.
What is the best way to automate this process?
Thank you.
Hi @Alexandra_B
Can you explain why you can't use Get Data option? is it because of authentication?

You still can generate a token if needed for your API and then use it in Power Query.
Thanks
Hari
Hello, @Hariharan_R . I can access the API fine via other methods (e.g. Postman), but unable to do the same via Power BI. I think it’s because the API requires both Basic Authentication and additional authentication parameters, which it appears is not supported currently in Power BI Desktop.
