We are working on a tenanted Power BI solution based on https://github.com/PowerBiDevCamp/App-Owns-Data-Starter-Kit
In our Power BI dashboard, we only use web data source type connections.
The dashboards are published to the new tentant workspace successfully but we are unable to configure credential method and privacy level setting for the data sources using the REST API.
We read the following documentation which suggest to use the Update Parameters In Group API call for web sources but there are no documentation or resources on how to pass the datasource privacy level as a parameter.

Could you please help?
Hi @SM2022 ,
Currently, Power BI doesn't support us to change credential by Power BI Rest API.
Here is a post with similar problem like yours, I hope it could help you solve your problem.
For reference:
Power BI REST API Update datasource credentials
You also could submit an idea like lbendlin mentioned.
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
Best Regards,
Rico Zhou

The purpose of this API is to change the connection address details, not the privacy level or the credentials.
