How can I display a date picker in a custom connector?

I'm making a custom connector that need to pass 2 dates to define a range, the thing is that with my current implementatión I can only pass them as strings/text, but other people that uses the connector are struggling passing the dates in the correct format, so I'm wondering how can I add a date picker just like is in the Marketo connector? 

I have been trying to look in to the source code of the connector but I cannot find the .mez/.pqx file in the certified extensions folder, so, is it a exclusive UI element o anyone can add it to it's custom connectors?
