Generate a presigned url for a power Bi report with applied filters

Hi, I have a requirement to share the power Bi reports to some of my users with their specific filters applied on the report. Is there any way I can generate a presigned url for my power bi report and provide that link to the user? On accessing the link, the user should be redirected to a read-only powerbi report. He need not sign in or any authentication is not required. He should be able to view the report.

Please let me know if such provision is available.

Thank you.

Hi @JagadishNallami ,

According to your statement, I think you want to share your report to your customer and then they can view it without sign in.

Here are two methods:

1. Publish to Web

Warning:When you use Publish to web, anyone on the Internet can view your published report or visual. Viewing requires no authentication. It includes viewing detail-level data that your reports aggregate. Before publishing a report, make sure it's okay for you to share the data and visualizations publicly. Don't publish confidential or proprietary information. If in doubt, check your organization's policies before publishing.

2. Embedded for customer (App owns data)

The embed for your customers solution allows you to build an app that uses non-interactive authentication against Power BI. Your customers are likely to be external users, and they don't need to sign in using Power BI credentials to view the embedded content.

If I don't want to apply filters but just share the report with a presigned url, so that the user need not login still can see the report. Is that possible?

No. They need to authenticate.

Filters are unrelated to authentication.  URL Filters are also only suggestions/defaults. The user can override these filters when interacting with the report. Trying to restrict interaction is counterproductive.  If you want a read-only media, export the report to PNG.
