Error while retrieving reports from PowerBI JS

 Hi to all,

I have created a new app registration (previous was expired) and we can retrieve connection data, but from JS queries we have the following error:

DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MwcCapacityCannotBeChargedError

Also, for other calls we have this error:

In previous similar cases, it was enough to create the new app registration from the active directory. Change for a bigger capacity is not an option because it would be too expensive for us regarding the actual usage.

Hi  @ms92ita ,

Based on the official documentation mentioned, VNet data gateway is currently available for P, F, and A4 or above (A4, A5, A6, and A7) SKUs. For F SKUs we recommend that you use F8 and above but all F SKUs will work.

Hi  @ms92ita ,

Based on your issue description, you're encountering the “DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MwcCapacityCannotBeChargedError” error when trying to retrieve reports from Power BI using JavaScript queries. This error typically indicates that the Fabric or Power BI capacity associated with the gateway may be down, and consumption reporting has failed for this capacity. If you are using the Power BI vnet data gateway, if so, may you try to go to the Power BI gateway admin page to check if you may receive this kind of error message related to the vnet data gateway need capacity warning message? If so, you may detail check the warning message with the doc link it provided to further understanding the enforcement start from Oct 7 2024.

Hello,

for the capacity pricing, we have seen from the Power BI worskpace setting the following options:

Are them valid for the virutal network gateway license capacity types? Especially the Fabric capacity type, since that its value is way more affordable.
