I am working with some large queries which uses much capacity so I would like to disable the fact that Power BI automaticly fires every underlying query from our SQL server when I open the program.
Is there a way to turn this off and choose by myself when I want to refresh the data?
Found this information for using "Import":
When opening an existing report in the Power BI service, or authoring a new report, the imported data is queried again, ensuring interactivity.

I believe this is what I want to disable.
There is an option to turn off the schedued refrsh from the service , by going to workspace and then to datasets and then scheduled refresh
Yes, I assume you are using a diret query mode of data connection.
Now, you can change the mode to import and then you can refrsh your data set when you need.
You can change this mode by going to properties on transform data tab , thanks
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately am I using imported query. I didn't find any information of the query being fired until we checked the capacity directly from our server.
