Dataset of Azure Databricks data does not load all tables automatically

Hey guys,

I hope this is the right category for this question.

I use different tables from one datamart on Azure Databricks. The datamart only gives new data, when all tables are fully loaded.

When I reload all tables one for one in Power BI, they all give me the new data. But when I refresh all tables at the same time (in Power BI desktop and also in the Power BI service when I reload the dataset), all tables get refreshed BESIDES one. It does not get an error and that table is always the same one. Sometimes it goes well, but a lot of the time that table won't load with the rest. When I choose to reload only that table, it works fine. Also, when I query on databricks, that table has the new rows. So the data is avalaible, but just won't come with the full refresh in Power BI.

To notice that it happens, I have put a visual in my report that counts the rows of a specific ID that needs to be the same in the tables. In that way, my stakeholder will notice it and I can manually refresh that one table. But of course it just needs to be able to automatically refresh all tables.

Is this a common issue? Does anyone recognise it and knows how I can fix it?

Hi  @ManonNL ,

Based on your error message provided, it seems you are trying to refresh all tables at the same time for both PBI desktop and PBI service, all tables get refreshed BESIDES one. If you can make a further deeper investigation on this issue that trying to connect to the Power Bi dataset to the SSMS tool using the XMLA endpoint, and there's possibility for you to capture and trace all the query sent to the Power Bi dataset during the dataset refresh process, and double-check to find the queries sent to the Power Bi dataset about this issue table, trying to find the further root cause of this issue?

Hi Liu Yang,

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately we don't have a premium capacity or premium per user yet, and it seems that this would be a premium feature.

Do you know if there are other ways to check what's wrong?

Kind regards,

Manon
