Upon creation of PowerBI dashboards - does data get transferred from my company to the outside world? If so where and what data security assurances do we have? Is there a Microsoft link that describes the data transfer and security protocols so i can provide assurances to my employers?
Many thanks for that link. I did read that before posting my post. The article i feel does not absolutely tell me if my data is being taken outside and stored outside. My assumption is yes it does and Azure is hosting the data.

I think that link is talking about the data safety in Azure. So I'd have the same assumption. Especially for import mode, the data is imported and encrypted in a pbix file and published to Power BI Service. For DirectQuery mode, though the data is retriving when required, I think there still would be some kind of cache on Azure as well.
