Hi looking for some advice if anyone has had a similar scenario as we are looking to optimise our configuration
We have our Azure Tenent based in UK South and our Power BI Embedded capacity is based in West Europe (Netherlands)
does anyone know if there will be any drawbacks to this when loading embedded reports, would there be any marked performance gain from switching regions? perhaps reduced latency?.
This is a screenshot of some of the network traffic when our embedded report loads, the query tasks are fetched from our capacity in west Europe and the second task is for UK South which appears to be the power bi service report metadata.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks
Thanks @Anonymous we are already using multi-geo in our configuration, we wanted to know if there would be any performance benefit of having the tenant and capacity in the same region? it says from the link you provided it may have implications for performance:
Hi @JohnAPD ,
Power BI Embedded now supports multi-geo capabilities, allowing you to deploy your data in multiple regions across the world to comply with different data residency requirements. This means you can choose different regions to deploy your capacity. You can get more details in the following official documentation.
Multi-Geo support for Power BI Embedded
