App Access Requests Automation

Hi, Is there anyway to automate the approve process for PowerBI App access requests that we receive via email.

We are on PowerBI Premium and we keep getting tons of requests from users to access the APP So ideally want to route the email to Business Owner of that app and then with his/her approval via email shall trigger auto grant access to PowerBI App?

Is it possible via PowerAutomate, PowerShell(REST APIs) ?

Thanks, ANS

Hi Ibendlin,

Actualy the owner of the app will recive an email with the request. Even the owner can be a small distribution list (PDL) or Active Directory Group with email to share the request.
Only ways that I had it working is using distribution list withing the organizations so the users will have inheritet access to the Power BI App.
By using Power Automate you can add to a PDL users or if you have an security tool for access linked to AD Groups.
I am facing the same issue and trying to do a POC on what is the best way to do it.

Regards,

Alex

Anyone heard of a solution where these emails are automatically re-routed into a JIRA-helpdesk, creating a ticket for every new request?

You are lucky that you are actually getting these requests. In our premium tenant these requests silently go into the app's request queue, with no notification to the app contacts at all.  Of course nobody ever looks at these queues.

Not aware of any API that lists either current app users or access requests.
