Hi,
I have a report published in a premium capacity workspace. I have Power BI Pro License.
I shared this report with other users who have a free license.
Some of them can Analyze in Excel, however others cannot.
The error message they get is in the screen shot given below.
The Excel fails to open in web, and downloads the file into the Excel app.
Can somebody help me to understand why it fails only for certain users?
Thanks!

Hi @SW23 ,
Based on this document: Power BI Analyze in Excel – What You Need to Know
This issue is related to you not having the correct data connector installed for your version of Excel. Make sure you have installed the correct (64 bit or 32 bit) data connector as covered earlier in this documents like following
Please also refer to the similar thread: Initialization of data source failed
His issue is caused due to the too old version of Excel.
Could you please check if reach the requirement and limitations in this document.

Thanks for the reply and all the documentation links. Installed the updates for Analyze in Excel, and now the user is able to perform the function.
