[Analysis Service] Relationship error (Ambiguous Path)

Hello all,

I am working on developing a data model using visual studio through analysis service. However, I am facing an error stating an ambiguous path between the tables while creating the relationship highlighted in red in the below relationship diagram. Can you please advice on how to solve this issue?

Hi @salafoo ,

I think the main reason is that the wrong activity relationship is set up. Generally speaking, there can only be one active relationship between two tables. If there is more than one relationship, it needs to be set as an inactive relationship.

In addition, specific screening directions may also cause errors. Therefore, you can refer to the specific official documents to view the relationship model between the constructed dimension table and the fact table.

I checked your error and I think in your data model, there are two relationships work on one table.

Fx:

"Business Development Payment Requests" > "Business Development Applications"

"Business Development Payment Requests" >"Business Development site visits">... > "Business Development Applications"

There are two different direction relationships start from "Business Development Payment Requests" to "Business Development Applications", and this will confuse Power BI and cause error.
