Hello everyone,
I have a specific question. We currently have a premium capacity with multiple workspaces. We use XMLA endpoints with service principals. We are thinking about switching to Premium Per User (PPU). There have been threads in this forum in the past regarding PPU workspaces and service principals. It was stated that service principals are not supported with PPU according to the documentation ( https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/enterprise/service-premium-per-user-faq#considerations-an...
However, when I look at the documentation, I find no mention that service principals are not supported.
So the very simple question: Can the XMLA endpoints be used with PPU with service principals or not?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Michael

Hi @Seewind2000 ,
It is possible to use XMLA endpoints with Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) workspaces using service principals, you can find the related info in the following official documentation.
Power BI Premium, Premium Per User, and Power BI Embedded workspaces use an XMLA endpoint to support open-platform connectivity from Microsoft and third-party client applications and tools.
It is required to enable the read/write XMLA endpoint for your Power BI Premium capacity first when connect to an XMLA endpoint by using a service principal.
In addition, you can refer the following link to make troubleshooting if you face any problem about XMLA endpoint connectivity.
