Hi all,
we have a data factory pipeline in place that triggers a dataset API refresh (via "Web" Task in ADF).
The refresh failed repeatedly the other day, which I did not notice as there was no error message from the PBI service. It could be seen in the refresh history, however. I did get the error mail from the PBI service shortly after midnight the next day, but by then it had already failed to load many times. For clarification I added a short timeline below.
I find this very insufficient in terms of error notification - any idea how we can fix this, such that the PBI service error mail is triggered right after the first fail?
Timeline:
05.01.2025, 2 pm: First refresh error can be seen in "Refresh history"
05.01.2025, 2:30 pm & 3 pm & 3:30 pm & ...: Continous refresh errors every 30 minutes in "Refresh history"
06.01.2025, 00:14 am: Error mail from PBI service

Just an update in case anyone comes across this issue: Failure mails from dataset refresh fails that are triggered via API are in fact not supported in Power BI (as confirmed with the PBI support team).
We are solving our issue via ADF now, which is a valid solution.
