I'm working on creating a KPI visual on my dashboard. From reading other posts, I've gathered that I need to create an exel file with my KPI goals and upload that to BI, and add it to my table.
What information/format do I need to put in that excel file?
I'm brand new to BI, so understanding the inormation needed in the queries to be able to do what I need to in the visuals, is still something I'm trying to figure out.
Hi,
Please elaborate your actual business requirement. What does your data look like? Whar result are you expecting?
I'm creating a visual to show what % of items we had go out of stock last month. I wanted to use the KPI visual, and show the number that went out of stock in comparison to our goal. I have the data pulled together to show the number of items that went out of stock each month, but I cant figure out how to pull the goal % of items in the KPI indicator.
Hi @wmeyer,
Based on your description, I think kpi visual not suitable for your requirement.(kpi visual only support to analysis summarized values)
Perhaps you can take a look at below links:

You will either need to create a Relationship to your Goals table, or integrate the data from the Goals table into your original data.
My choice would be to add a Calculated Column to the original table that shows the Goal value for each row. You should then be able to set that value in the KPI vis.
