Hello Community,
I would like to know what is the column Task and why I have "Visualize" in some reports.
(PS : I'm a Member in the work space).
Solved! Go to Solution.
@PBIDev01 The "Task" column you're seeing is related to Task Flows in Microsoft Fabric workspaces (this feature is not available in classic Power BI-only workspaces).
Task Flows let you visually map and organize the different stages of your data project inside the workspace (like a high-level flowchart).
Typical tasks/stages include:
You (or workspace admins/contributors) assign items (reports, semantic models, lakehouses, pipelines, etc.) to these tasks. This helps everyone understand the overall architecture and quickly filter items by stage.
In the workspace list view:
The Visualize button appears next to items (especially Reports and sometimes Semantic Models) that are assigned to the "Visualize data" task in the Task Flow.
It’s a quick-action button that:
It’s a navigation shortcut that Microsoft added for items categorized under the visualization stage.
As a Member, you can see the Task Flow and the Task column (it’s visible to most roles except very restricted ones). You may or may not be able to edit the Task Flow itself, depending on your exact permissions (usually Contributors/Admins handle the assignment of items to tasks).
Quick tips:
Hello @PBIDev01,
The "Task" column simply shows actions available for that item in the workspace.
The "Visualize" option is shown for reports where you can explore the underlying semantic model directly from the workspace. Usually this depends on permissions (such as Build permission) and how the report/model was configured.
That is why some reports show "Visualize" while others only show "—".
