Hi All
I've been at it for a week, and I can't fix it (and need to present tomorrow:)).
I have 2 data sources in my power bi: one is an import of an internal sql database (i intentionally don't do a direct query because it was screwing things up even more), the second one is from SmartSheet (online Excel-like tool).
I need to create a table where I have cost information from both tables based on application ID. Smartsheet has less applications than first database: I expect it this cell to just be blank if there's no entry in Smartsheet for this application. However, as soon as an application is not in Smartsheet, it completely disregards this application and it's not present in the table.
I hope someone can help me!
BR Natalia
Thanks for reply! I tried this but I have a huge number of columns in both databases and whe I do join (Full Outer or Left Outer), it doesn't insert the column that I need. What can be the problem?
Hi @Anonymous ,
You should expand the column you want as the picture below.
Thanks, Frank! It works, however when I add these 2 attributes in a table for comparison (from the merged query: one attribute from 1 source, another from the second one) and as soon as I say "don't summarize" (as I need to see the costs per application), I get an "can't display the visual" error. IF I use the "Sum" , the visual is displayed but the values are wrong (same total value in every line).
Hi @Anonymous ,
kindly share your sample data to me if you don't have any Confidential Information. Please upload your files to One Drive and share the link here.
