@Anonymous in imported mode you can use multiple sources, in direct query mode you can only have one source.

Can you elaborate on 1? Are you referring to how much data you can import?

As for 2, several? How many are you looking to do and are they all tables in one ODBC source or multiple, different ODBC connections (sources)

For question 2: which are the several odbc connection we can use ? and what are those .

@Anonymous  you have a 1gb limit per pbix file when you are publishing to the web service however this is for imported mode - are you referring to direct query mode or imported mode?    direct query because the data sits at the source there is not that limitation.

I dont think there is a limit of joins possible, it will be dependent on the source.

for the data sources look here

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-data-sources/

when you say odbc are you referring to SQL or what?  you can have as many connections as you need however in direct query mode i think you can only point to one  in one file.

@Anonymous in imported mode you can use multiple sources, in direct query mode you can only have one source.

@vanessafvg in direct query as well as i think live mode only one source can be used right?

Thanks for the help

@Anonymous multiple tables in the source is possible - but you can only point to one database
