I would like to try the Power BI Q&A but the query field to "Ask a question about your data" does not appear in the top left corner of my screen like the demos show.  Help.

You probably need to enable Q&A. Dashboard, ellipses, Settings | Enable Q&A.

If you access data with gateway, you also need to turn the QA on dataset. Just go to settings->Dataset->Q&A and Cortana->Turn on Q&A on this dataset.

Also you need to be on a dashboard, not a report page.
