show red yellow green gauge from low to high

I need a gauge to show from low to high as green is measured as < 0.5%, yellow is 0.51% to 1% and red is > 1%.

All the gauges seem to be designed to show Green as reaching the maximum. So far, the only workaround has been to create gauges using 1-the metric to show opposite metric.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben,

According to your description, the Gauage does not suffice the requirement for you. As Smoupre said, Power BI team have published the DialGauge custom visual and currently it is available for Power BI users to download. Here are some details about how to set the options in DialGauge custom visual.

  • Colour indicated by red displays actual value.
  • Colour indicated by yellow displays target value.
  • Pointer displays any value.
  • Null/blank/max values will be indicated by colour green.
  • Default minimum value is 0.
  • Default maximum value is 100.
  • Additional label to display value. It append % sign.
  • Name of chart will be displayed on Center of Dial Gauge.

Have you tried this custom visual? If this is not what you want, please elaborate your requirement, so that we can make further analysis.

Yes, I've tried it. I'm unable to accomplish my requirements with it either.

I've created 3 requests with the cloudfronts team as well.

With it and any other gauge, I'm unable show Green to Red from low to high. That is, my Green range is 0-.5%, Yellow is 0.5-1% and Red is > 1%.

Thanks, Ben

Yes, I've tried it but haven't been able to get it to do what I need.

I've now been able to get the bullet chart to work by changing Very Good Color to Red, Good to Yellow and Satisfactory to Green. It would still be nice to see this as default behavior of the various graphs. The bullet chart is described with this behavior here: Bullet Graphs for Not-to-Exceed Targets

Thanks, Ben
